Susi Förster

Susi Förster is a Project Assistant at futur eins. She has gained diverse insights across different institutions and companies and brings her analytical skills, curiosity, and passion for democracy, progress, and people to the team.
Her career began with studying dentistry, where she not only learned proper dental care but also sharpened her analytical abilities. She soon realized that both the study structure and her personal growth required more critical thinking. Alongside her studies, her entrepreneurial spirit emerged, and she gained initial experience in the health sector as a freelancer. While this phase didn’t always bring the desired success, it gave her valuable exposure to various businesses through side jobs, allowing her to further hone her ability to analyze her surroundings.
Her next step led her to a startup with the ambitious goal of becoming a “unicorn.” As a Growth Marketing Manager at a med-tech startup, she applied her accumulated analytical skills. However, the company was sold before reaching its unicorn goal. This experience led her to a new insight: sustainable startups – so-called “zebras” – might be the better choice.
Her love of books eventually led her to Maria Ressa's How to Stand Up to a Dictator. This book deeply inspired her and ignited her passion for journalism. She was particularly moved by the role of journalism in the fight against disinformation and populism. Since then, she has been fascinated by topics such as critical journalism and the use of artificial intelligence to strengthen democracy.
At futur eins, she sees an opportunity to pursue these interests in an inspiring environment and to contribute to building a resilient society. She looks forward to working with a dedicated team and insightful minds.
In her free time, you can often find her with a book in hand, accompanied by Taylor Swift in the background. Her enthusiasm for creative and intellectual projects is reflected in both her work and daily life. With a clear focus on the essentials and a deep interest in societal developments, she’s excited to bring her diverse experiences to new challenges and actively shape the future.
