Michelle Nagel

Michelle Nagel is Minister of Technology at futur eins. She brings with her venture sPing - trust the source - an application whose development and implementation provides the world with a neutral tool that firstly excludes bots and secondly can differentiate between digitally published information and disinformation.
As a strategist and entrepreneur in various fields, she has developed a focus on complex issues, socio-political values, and corporate governance motives throughout her career. To change things, you have to understand them. To understand, Michelle Nagel has always liked to tackle life and issues head-on.
As co-founder of the communications agency Zucker.Kommunikation in the mid-1990s, she raised the flag for authentic and credible communication. Narratives, storytelling, and viral content creation began during this time in Berlin, which wanted to be redesigned like a blank sheet of paper.
This is why IT and start-ups also settled in Berlin, which is why Michelle fell completely in love with the cosmos of technical possibilities from 2000 as Head of Marketing at gate5 AG, today 'here technologies the worlds #1 location platform'.
Being part of this story, these visions and their endless opportunities completely flashed Michelle. Since then, she has been on fire for nerdy stuff and also knows how to abstract and translate it into the normal world.
Even before that, she understood the immense potential of networked “social software”. The Gameboy game Pokémon from Nintendo, whose methodology is based on a social community dynamic and the exchange between users, was introduced to the German market in 1999 by Michelle as mainly responsible on agency side.
Michelle believes in openness, tolerance, and the experiences that every generation should have with its own reality. She believes in the fusion of the values of the old and new economies. She believes in the school of differentiation to stay alert and protect against manipulation.
It was precisely these values, this belief in the power of tolerance and differentiation, that President Barack Obama brilliantly presented in three cities during his European tour in the spring of 2023. This is why she is delighted to be the communications lead for the “An evening with President Barack Obama” European tour and therefore also responsible for the concept. Together with her team, she has succeeded in harnessing PBO's mojo and developing its impact as a kind of political pop star at eye level with the public. With the thematic spin of “The responsibility of the media in the division of society” and “The resilience of democracy”, her strategy worked.
In her private life, Michelle is learning to differentiate “when to take things seriously and when not to take them too seriously” – or, in other words, to keep laughing in the midst of the turmoil of global political developments.
