I am a Professor of Communication Studies with a focus on Digitalization and Public Sphere at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. My research is dedicated to digital political communication, including the spread of disinformation and exploring how societies can become more resilient to these challenges.

Utopia

My vision is a future in which democratic societies are strengthened against disinformation through digital education and critical thinking. Public spaces are characterized by transparent algorithms and media diversity, enabling citizens to participate in informed political discourse. This can foster a resilient, participatory democracy based on trust and facts.
